QI BEAUTY ACADEMY / PRACTITIONER EDUCATION
Frequently asked questions.
A guide to the Qi beauty Method, professional education, certification and bringing Qi beauty into your practice.
01 / The Method
What is Qi beauty?
Qi beauty is a professional skin treatment method using carefully positioned, earth mineral micro-magnets known as STIMs. The method brings a different perspective to skin health, with a focus on skin function, recovery, visible ageing and individual treatment planning.
What makes the Qi beauty Method different?
Qi beauty is a non-invasive approach that does not rely on needles, heat or controlled skin injury. Practitioners work with tailored STIM arrangements perfected by Qi beauty Creator, Kathy Pedersen over 20 years. The designs are known as a Matrix, alongside considered skin assessment, skincare and touch.
What does Qi beauty mean by bioenergetics?
Within Qi beauty education, bioenergetics describes the brand's framework for considering energy and skin function. Training introduces the use of static magnetic fields and the principles behind the Qi beauty Method. This framework should not be interpreted as proof that the treatment supports skin health, recovery and vitality.
Who is Qi beauty designed for?
Qi beauty is taught to qualified skin and beauty professionals looking to broaden their treatment approach. In practice, consultations may include clients with concerns about ageing, sensitivity, dehydration, congestion, inflammatory skin conditions, or skin changes associated with life stages and stress. Every client requires an individual assessment.
Can Qi beauty be used on sensitive or changing skin?
Training includes approaches for sensitive and reactive skin, as well as skin recovery and changes associated with ageing. Suitability depends on the client's skin presentation, history and contraindications. Qi beauty is not a substitute for medical assessment or medical treatment of inflammatory or hormonal disorders. Qi beauty offers holistic support for skin through natural, non-invasive methods.
Does the treatment involve downtime?
The Qi beauty Method is designed as a non-injurious treatment without the downtime associated with resurfacing or invasive procedures. Individual skin responses can vary, and practitioners should always follow the taught protocols and aftercare guidance.
02 / Education & Certification
Who can enrol in the Qi beauty Academy?
The Academy is designed for aestheticians, skin therapists, beauty professionals and practitioners interested in expanding their professional knowledge.
Can I learn the method before purchasing products?
Yes. Module One: Foundation Protocols is available as an education-only pathway. It lets you explore the methodology, foundational techniques and treatment principles before investing in professional products. No physical treatment products are included in an education-only enrolment.
What is covered in Module One: Foundation Protocols?
Module One introduces the Qi beauty approach to skin behaviour, assessment and foundational protocols, including skin recovery, lifting, sculpting and vitality. It is intended to build your understanding of the method and how it may complement your existing practice.
Is there advanced education after Module One?
Yes. The wider education pathway includes Module Two and specialist continuing education, including advanced lifting, scar and recovery-focused protocols, EYEBAR, Home Kit education, skin consultations and other focused tutorials. Access and prerequisites vary by course.
Who teaches the training?
Qi beauty education is led by Kathy Pedersen, Founder and Creator of the Qi beauty Method, drawing on approximately 20 years of professional practice and practitioner education. Selected courses include live guidance with Kathy.
Does completing an Academy course make me a certified practitioner?
Not every Academy course is a full certification pathway. Short courses, day passes and education-only modules have different learning outcomes. Review the course listing to confirm whether it awards certification, completion recognition or continuing education access.
When does enrolment open?
January 2027 enrolment has been announced for the Academy's next education intake. Course access and live session dates depend on the programme selected. Refer to the Academy for current enrolment options and confirmed dates.
03 / The Training Experience
Is training online or in person?
Qi beauty education is delivered through the online Academy, with treatment demonstrations and learning resources. Selected certification packages also include live Zoom training and personalised one-to-one guidance. Confirm the format on your chosen course page.
Can I learn at my own pace?
Yes. Academy resources are designed to be revisited as you develop your knowledge and technique. Access periods vary: some certification programmes include ongoing Academy access, while specific refresher or tutorial products may have a defined access period.
Will I receive practical feedback?
Selected certification programmes include live, personalised sessions with Kathy Pedersen. Newly certified practitioners may also be invited to submit their first three treatment cases for feedback and continued learning, where this support forms part of their programme.
What if I need a refresher after certification?
Certified practitioners can revisit Academy demonstrations and explore dedicated Practitioner Refresher options. Depending on the package, refreshers may include a review of Modules One and Two, one-to-one support and professional essentials for returning to practice.
Are short courses or day passes available?
Yes. The Academy includes focused learning opportunities such as skin assessment, Home Kit education, consultation topics and specialist tutorials. Availability, eligibility and access duration are shown on each course page.
04 / Products & Professional Start-Up
Are products included with every enrolment?
No. Education-only enrolments do not include physical products. Certification-plus-start-up and certain refresher packages may include professional supplies. Always check the specific product inclusions before purchasing.
How do I move from education into hands-on treatments?
After exploring the education-only pathway, you can purchase professional start-up supplies when you're ready to practise, subject to the training and certification requirements for offering the method. The currently described first-30-treatments start-up option is priced at USD $990; confirm current pricing, inclusions, shipping and duties before checkout.
What is included in the first 30 treatments start-up option?
The start-up option is designed to provide professional essentials for your first 30 treatments. The exact contents depend on the current pack listing, so please review the product page or contact the Qi beauty team before ordering.
Where can practitioners purchase supplies?
Professional product information and purchasing options are available through qibeautypro.com.au. Eligibility and ordering arrangements vary by region.
Can I offer the Qi beauty Home Kit to clients?
Yes. The Home Kit extends the Qi beauty approach into a client's at-home routine. Its Face Map Library provides guided applications, and Academy education can help practitioners introduce the Home Kit appropriately alongside professional treatment planning.
05 / Bringing Qi beauty Into Your Practice
How can Qi beauty fit into my existing treatment menu?
Practitioners may introduce Qi beauty as a dedicated facial, a targeted eye treatment, a focused Mini Qi service or an enhancement to an existing ritual, depending on their training and regional permissions. The aim is to complement your existing skills rather than replace them.
What are EYEBAR and Mini Qi?
EYEBAR is a targeted treatment focused on the eye area. Mini Qi refers to shorter, focused Qi beauty applications. They can offer an accessible introduction to the method for clients and a flexible addition to a professional service menu, subject to practitioner training.
Can Qi beauty support clients through perimenopause, menopause or other skin changes?
Practitioners can use skin assessment to adapt care for clients experiencing dryness, sensitivity, visible ageing or other changes during different life stages. Qi beauty should not be presented as a treatment for hormonal imbalances, PCOS, endometriosis or other medical conditions.
Is Qi beauty suitable alongside other aesthetic treatments?
Integration depends on the other procedure, skin condition, recovery stage and practitioner scope. Follow the relevant Qi beauty protocols, the other provider's aftercare requirements and appropriate referral guidance before combining treatments.
Are there contraindications?
Qi beauty training identifies pregnancy, pacemakers and adhesive sensitivities among important contraindication or precaution considerations. A full client consultation and the current practitioner safety protocol are essential before treatment.
What ongoing support is available?
Practitioners can continue learning through Academy resources, treatment demonstrations, refresher education and selected live sessions. Certified practitioners are also encouraged to share their work and connect with the wider Qi beauty practitioner community.
